The Pilots won their sixth straight game tonight, beating the Martinsville Mustangs 6-2. Most of the Pilots’ runs came in the seventh inning, where they scored four runs to run away with the game.

Cole Stanford (Lenoir-Rhyne) led the Pilots in hits tonight, going 3-4 with two RBIs, both coming on a single in the seventh inning. Hunter Cole also had a strong night, going 2-4 from the plate with two RBIs.

Sam Rochard (Tennessee Wesleyan) had an excellent start for the Pilots tonight, only giving up one run and four hits, striking out seven.

Olvis Genao (Southeastern) got the win tonight for the Pilots. The lefty came in relief after Rochard, giving up one run over two innings. Jay Schueler (Southeastern) came in after him. He pitched a clean inning, striking out one.

Will Gross (Virginia Commonwealth) got the save for the Pilots, retiring the Mustangs in order.

The Pilots put up a crooked number in the first inning, jumping on the Mustangs and scoring two. Hunter Cole (Randolph Macon) singled in a run and Justin Starke (VMI) hit a sacrifice fly on the next at-bat to score another.

Martinsville cut the lead in half in the top of the third with a two-out RBI single.

The Mustangs tied the game in the top of the fifth with an RBI double down the left-field line.

The Pilots retook the lead in the bottom of the seventh inning, scoring four runs on three hits. Mason Dunaway (James Madison) hit a towering ground-rule double over the head of the center fielder to score the first run. The next batter, Hunter Cole (Randolph Macon), hit him in with an RBI single. Cole Stanford (Lenoir Rhyne) kept the one-out hit party going, hitting a two-RBI single past the shortstop.

The Pilots will play again on the road against the Tri-City Chili Peppers tomorrow night at 7 PM.
