The Pilots won their third straight game tonight, beating the Sharks 8-2. 

Chris Martinez (Univ. of Science and Art) was the star of the game offensively for the Pilots. The third baseman went 3-4 on the day with all of his hits being for extra bases and two of them being home runs! Martinez also drove in six of the eight Pilot runs.

Dalton Barham (Norfolk State) was solid in his second start of the season. The southpaw pitched five innings, giving up two runs and two hits, earning the win. 

Vincent Bashara (Old Dominion) and Todd Mozoki (James Madison) came in relief for the Pilots tonight. Bashara pitched one inning, giving up no runs and one hit. Mozoki pitched the last three innings, earning him the save. In his three innings, he gave up zero runs and one hit.

Third baseman Chris Martinez kicked things off with a two-out, two-RBI double in the first inning to put the Pilots up 2-0.

Martinez kept the bat hot in the bottom of the third, hitting a two-run homer to extend the Pilots’ lead to 4-0.

The Pilots extended the lead in the bottom of the seventh inning with four runs. Ryan Dooley (James Madison) bunted a run across and Hunter Cole (Randolph Macon) scored another on a groundout. Martinez hit his second home run of the ballgame with two outs. After seven, the Pilots lead 8-2. 

The Pilots are back in action on July 3rd, as they go on the road to face the Morehead City Marlins.
