Not every ballpark in the Coastal Plain League has the same turf infield that War Memorial Stadium features.

Fleming Stadium — home of the Wilson Tobs — is not one of those parks, as the rains from Tropical Storm Elsa have postponed Thursday’s game.

The game will be made up in a doubleheader July 29 — the last time the Pilots travel to Fleming Stadium in the regular season. Each game will be a seven-inning game.

Peninsula will play its second-consecutive home game Friday against its former Coastal Plain League rival in the Edenton Steamers. The two teams met at Historic Hicks Field June 29 where the Pilots claimed victory 7-4.

First pitch is set for 7 p.m. and gates will open at 5:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on FloSports.
