The Pilots are at home tonight to face the Martinsville Mustangs, and it’s Star Wars night! Your Pilots will wear special Star Wars-themed jerseys, and fan-favorite characters will be at War Memorial Stadium. After a double-header yesterday against the Tri-City Chili Peppers, the Pilots have two more games in the next two days.
With a lot of the bullpen pitching yesterday, the Pilots’ starter would help the pitching situation. Sam Rochard (Tennessee Wesleyan) is starting for the Pilots tonight, making his second start with the team. In his two starts, he has a 3.25 ERA over 19.2 innings pitched. He went five strong innings in his last outing, giving up one run.
The last time the Pilots and Mustangs faced off, the Pilots won 8-6 on the road. Mason Dunaway (James Madison) led the team in RBIs with four. Nick Willard (Liberty) got the win for the Pilots, pitching three innings in relief and giving up one run. In their three matchups this season, the Pilots are 2-1 with their only loss coming on the road.
The teams face off in their fourth matchup at 7 PM tonight.
