Biography: 2009 (Summer): Crane made 42 appearances for the Peninsula Pilots and appeared in 3 games behind the plate as our emergency catcher. Crane hit a 3-run home run in the first inning against Fayetteville to start the Pilots to an 8-7 victory.
2009: Played in a total of 32 games as a freshman with 21 starts in left field and at third base. Made several appearances as a catcher as well. Hit .259 with two home runs and 15 RBI with two doubles and one stolen base. Homered for the first time in his collegiate career against North Carolina A&T on Apr. 14 to go along with his 3-for-4 performance with three RBI. Also had a two RBI game against UNC Asheville on May 3. Had six multiple hit games, two multiple RBI games and a five-game hitting streak.
High School: Was a four-year starter at one of the top programs in New Jersey, Immaculata High School. Earned All-Conference, All-County and All-Area Honors as a junior while hitting .443 with 15 extra base hits and 33 RBI. Played for two of New Jersey�s elite traveling teams, the Tri-State Arsenal and the South Florida Bandits. Also played for the Jack Cust Diamond Jacks hitting .538 for the Connie Mack North Atlantic Regional Champions.
Personal: The son of Tara Crane, Chas is a Sport Management major who enjoys working out, playing golf and watching movies, and plans on playing baseball after graduation. His favorite food is breakfast, and The Yankee Years is his favorite book. Alex Rodriquez is his favorite athlete. |
